Description
SRNE 16kW Three-Phase Low-Voltage Hybrid Solar Inverter
The SRNE HESP48160SH3 16kW Three-Phase Hybrid Inverter is a high-capacity solar energy management unit suitable for homes, offices, commercial buildings, farms, workshops and other facilities requiring three-phase electricity.
The inverter intelligently manages energy from solar panels, batteries and the grid/generator. During the day, solar power can supply the connected loads while excess energy is used to charge the battery bank. When solar production is insufficient, the system can draw energy from the batteries or another configured power source.
Because it is a low-voltage 48V battery inverter, it is compatible with appropriately configured 48V lithium or lead-acid battery banks. SRNE specifies a battery operating range of 40–60V DC.

Solar PV Capacity
One of the major features is its ability to accept a substantially larger solar array than its 16kW AC output.
The HESP48160SH3 is specified for up to 24kW of PV input. This means you can design a solar array larger than 16kW to improve solar production during mornings, afternoons and periods of weaker sunlight.
For example, a system could be designed with approximately:
24kWp solar panels → SRNE 16kW inverter → 48V lithium battery bank → three-phase loads
The exact number and electrical arrangement of panels should, however, be designed according to the panel’s Voc, Vmp, current and the inverter’s MPPT limits.
3 Independent MPPTs
The inverter has three MPPT solar trackers. This allows the solar array to be divided into different PV string groups.
This can be particularly useful where:
- Roof sections face different directions
- Different sections receive different levels of sunlight
- There are different string configurations
- Part of the array experiences shading
Each MPPT can independently optimize the solar energy coming from its connected PV array.
48V Low-Voltage Battery System
The inverter uses a 48V battery architecture, with an operating range of approximately 40–60V DC. It can work with lithium-ion, lead-acid or user-defined battery types, subject to compatibility and correct configuration.
For a lithium installation, the battery bank should have sufficient continuous current capability because a 16kW inverter can require substantial battery current at full load.
For example, at 16kW output, a 48V battery system theoretically requires roughly:
16,000W ÷ 48V ≈ 333A
Actual battery current will vary with inverter efficiency, battery voltage and operating conditions. Therefore, the battery bank, cables, busbars and protection devices must be appropriately sized.
Advantages of the SRNE 16kW Three-Phase Hybrid Inverter
1. Three-Phase Power
It provides 230/400V three-phase output, making it suitable for three-phase homes, commercial premises, workshops, farms and light-industrial applications.
2. Large Solar Input
The inverter can accommodate up to 24kW of PV input, giving you room to install a larger solar array than the inverter’s 16kW AC rating.
3. Large Battery Charging Capacity
The 16kW model supports battery charging/discharging current of up to 300A, allowing substantial energy-storage systems to be charged and discharged at high rates.
4. Pure Sine Wave Output
Pure sine-wave output makes it suitable for sensitive electronic equipment as well as motors, pumps, refrigeration equipment and other electrical loads, provided they remain within the inverter’s specifications.
5. Solar + Battery + Grid Integration
The hybrid architecture allows energy from different sources to be coordinated, providing flexibility for reducing grid consumption and maintaining supported loads during interruptions.
6. Suitable for Uneven Three-Phase Loads
The HESP 16–20kW series is designed to handle practical three-phase applications where loads may not always be perfectly balanced.
7. High Short-Term Surge Capability
The 16kW model has a specified peak capability of up to 32kVA, providing short-duration reserve for suitable starting loads.
8. Expandable System
SRNE specifies parallel operation for the HESP 16–20kW series, allowing multiple units to be combined where a larger system capacity is required, subject to the manufacturer’s configuration requirements.
9. Multiple Solar Array Configurations
Three MPPTs provide greater flexibility when designing larger solar installations with different roof orientations or separate PV string groups.
10. Suitable for Commercial Applications
Its combination of 16kW three-phase output, 24kW PV capacity and 48V battery compatibility makes it suitable for substantial residential, commercial and light-industrial solar installations.
